Following the success of their debut EP Paths of the Slain this March, heavy metal trio Owl Maker is set to release the two-track EP Sky Road on November 2nd, 2018. With themes of hopelessness, addiction, and revenge set against a stark desert landscape, and produced by the Owl Maker's own guitarist and frontman Simon Tuozzoli, Sky Road shows a musical and conceptual evolution for the band.

I picked this one up in advance of a holiday trip. In these times I always need some softer music for my companion which rocks only a little. But SPIRAL GURU's cool 70s influenced psychedelic rock even rocks a bit more. Usually this is not my genre, stuf like Spiritual Beggars or the like, but SPIRAL GURU is definitely charming, maybe because of the female vocals. Further the songs are not too psychedelic, they have a solid catchiness. Check "Signs" or "Oracle". H.L.
